RE: Winter in Wisconsin?

I have gone through 2 wisconsin winters now, one with a boarding barn the other at my own place. At the boarding barn we did outdoor boarding, horses only being brought in if there was going to be freezing rain and they did fine and it was both horses first Wisconsin winter too... one was from southern Indiana the other Southern Missouri. Last year at our own place we did the same even though we did have stalls available. The only one that even needed a blanket of our 4 was my young stallion whose hair coat matts down eaisly and he would get chilly if not groomed twice a day and as I travel often I could not always do that so we would put a sheet on when I would be out of town. Hope this helps.
